A score is useful only when it leads to specific work. CFGS reviews the organization’s facts and assigns the appropriate pathway.

Compliance, governance, record, or capacity gaps need attention.
Complete the readiness program and reassess.
Grant-ready organizations may proceed to fit and Go/No-Go review.
What funders check first
Nothing on this page is scored. A staff member reads every application before any eligibility decision.
Current bylaws, an active board, a conflict-of-interest policy, and up-to-date registration or tax-exempt filings.
A current operating budget, a designated financial contact, and a basic understanding of restricted-fund handling.
A defined need, target population, and a rough sense of the outcomes your project is meant to produce.
Staff or volunteer capacity to carry out the project and report on it if funded.
